Latest Buzz in kollywood is that Rajini’s next project will be Basha – 2. During RM Veerappan family function Rajini said that it is only possible for RMV and Sathya Movies to produce movie like Basha, from then the news has been in the rounds.
Although Rajini and RM Veerappan denied the reports, every one believes that the script is being developed for the movie. We knew from the sources that, Rajini before going to the spiritual journey to Himalayas went and met RM Veerappan discussed the project. Rajini also told Sathya Movies to get the script ready and if the script is ready by the time he returns, he will immediately take up the project.
Almost after 20 years Sathya movies will be on lime light once again with a tremendous project. ‘Baasha’ was the last film produced by Sathya Movies after which it was lying low. Hope we can see again Rajini as Basha in Basha -2 under the banner of Sathya movies.
One more interesting thing about the album is that Shiva has penned lyrics for a funny number, whose starting words are ‘Saudi Baasha…’ “Besides, each character in the movie could be identified with different music”, add sources.
Va Quarter Cutting’ can be called the ‘Tamil Padam part -II’ because the producers, Sashikanth Sivaji of Y NOT Studios and distributed taken care by Dhayanidhi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies as well as ‘Tamil Padam’ Hero Shiva, have teamed up once again, to make us laugh and think (or stop asking logic) on the recent trends of Tamil Cinema. Interestingly SPB Charan and Lekha Washington do important roles in this film. The ‘Va’ before ‘Quarter cutting’ looks like a tax-saver as per TN Governments rules to keep Tamil titles in Tamil movies in order to exempt from entertainment tax.
Dialogue 1
A voice asks Hero Shiva, ‘Oru quarterukka ivaloo galaata?’. Immediately the Hero speaks out a punch dialogue saying that everyman, if asked to give up a habbit, will always long for doing it one more time. For this, he uses, Iyer-thayir sadam, Sate (Jain) – beeda (referring to Pawn Broker) as illustration, which brings laughter in us. Finally, Shiva pulls the guy to the wine shop for a last time(I guess).
Dialogue 2
The BGM during the start of this dialogue is actually the ‘Thediyae thediyae’ tune. This dialogue is delivered by an angry mom scolding her daughter (Linda?). She scorns accusing her daughter by comparing her with a tamarind. And then she bawls out in Hindi. Finally, she scares her that her father would peel off her skin. Don’t ask me, but this dialogue is part of the music album?!

This dialogue is Shiva’s narration about ‘Saudi Sheikh’, but he largely imitates ‘Vijay’s style. Shiva’s name is ‘Sura’ in this movie I guess. The ‘Saudi Sheikh’ requests ‘Sura’ for a rescue mission and he immediately agrees.

‘Ready ji’ – ‘Readi ji’ ‘Ok ji’ – ‘Ok ji’ ‘Pinroam ji’ – ‘Pinroam ji’ ‘Ready’ – ‘Ready’ – That’s all. I think this 6 seconds dialogue exchanged between two people, is the shortest dialogue clip that has come along with a tamil film music album ever.

‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ was launched in November 2009 and finished the entire shooting in August 2010. The film was largely shot in locations like Thanjavur, Mysore and Trichy. The super hit Hindi movie 3 Idiots is running successful in chennai. Vijay was impressed by the movie and acting of Amir Khan, finally decided to do the role of Aamir Khan in Tamil remake of 3 Idiots. The other two important roles in the movie are given to Jeeva and Simbu, But Simbu is not willing to do it. I think Madhavan is going to do the role in Tamil also.

The story of Manmadhan Ambu is out ! Madhavan plays the role of Madhan and Trisha plays the role of Ambujam. Hence the name of the movie is titled as ‘Manmadhan Ambu’. Madhan is deeply in love with the actress Ambujam. Madhan wants to confirm whether Ambujam is also madly in love with him. So he appoints a private detective, a role played by Kamal Hassan.
The name Manmadhan Ambu is derived from Manmadhan and Ambujam. It is said that Kamal’s character name could begin or end with “Man”. This mean Man stands for Kamal’s character name, Madhan for Madhavan and Ambu for Trisha.
The film has already raised expectations as the duo combo K.S. Ravikumar-Kamal Hassan has already churned out box office blockbusters – Avvai Shanmugi, Thenali, Panchathanthiram and Dasavatharam.

The actor's upcoming Naan Mahaan Alla will reportedly grace theatres on July 23, 2010Karthi is one of the hottest stars of this year with three consecutive hit films. This year he had the first super hit ‘Paiyaa’ publicising his ability. ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ is his fourth film. The title has reused taken an old Rajinikanth film released in 1984. That had Rajini and Radha and this new film has Karthi and Kajal Agarwal. The similarities end there. The story of Karthi’s ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ has no resemblance to the super star film. While that was a story of lawyer who becomes the nemesis of the villains, the new film is all about a wishful romantic.

Director S. Shakar latest movie Enthiran features Superstar Rajinikanth and Aiswarya Rai in leading roles. Enthiran is a science-fiction movie and is based on late writer sujatha's novels En Iniya Iyanthira and Jeeno. In Enthiran there are two leading characters, one the human and other the powerful robot, both are played by Ranjanikanth. Danny Denzongpa, Santhanam and Karunas will play the main roles along with Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai.
In Endhiran, Rajni plays double role. One is a scientist and another is a Robot. Scientist Rajni creates a Robot with artificial intelligence like that of sixth sense in humans to help human beings and to the development of the country.
Enthiran is expected to cost 120 crores and is one of the highest ever film budgets of the Kollywood.Three years of expectations was worthy enough to keep all the buffs awaited for the music from academy award winner A.R. Rahman.
Top Kollywood comedian Vadivelu's house was raided by Income Tax officials near Madurai.some property and bank documents were siezed last night, officials said.They raided the house following a tip off that he did not pay Income Tax,and was amassing wealth by evading tax.It seems that Vadivelu was present at the house to celebrate pongal festival when the raid was conducted.Simultaneously his house at Chennai was also raided. Vadivelu co operated with IT sleuths during the checks conducted between 10AM to 3PM by eight officials. It is not known how much the seized bank documents and property is worth.- Agencies
Ajith’s 50th film is gearing up for a kind of launch never seen before in Tamil industry. The grand function is being planned in Madurai, the stronghold of Alagiri. Gautham will start the film in June immediately after he completes his underproduction low budget thriller starring his associate Veera and Sameera Reddy. Dhayanidhi Alagiri who produces Ajith’s 50th film has sounded a grand function at the famous Thamukam Grounds in Madurai. Elaborate plans are being made to have Union Minister and the father of Dhayanidhi Mu. Ka. Alagiri and the Super Star Rajinikanth on the stage together as chief guests. Gautham Menon is planning to convert Ajith as the new James Bond of southcinema.At the same time he has given full freedom to Ajith to decide on how he wants to look in the film. Ajith’s terrific macho appearance in ‘Asal’ is still fresh in the minds of the people. As said before Gautham has applied the title ‘Kaaval’ for this film and if that title is not available then he would call the film ‘Khaki’.

A muscular man who looks smug holding on to the bull’s tail, is shaken off the next moment and falls violently on the ground; an anxious murmur rises from the crowd but the very next moment he is back on his feet looking smug again.
Several festivals are held throughout the year in Madurai. These festivals attract crowds from far and wide and by far represent some of the grandest celebrations of the Indian subcontinent.
The annual Bhramhotsavam celebrated in the month ofChittirai (Aries) is the most important one and it ties in the legends related to the Madurai temple such as thecoronation of Meenakshi, the Divine marriage etc. The Chittirai festival also coincides with the annual festival atTirumaaliruncholai. The Divine marriage involves a procession of deities from Tirupparamkunram as well, and hence during this time the entire area in and aroundMadurai is transformed into one of a great celebratory space.
The Chittirai festival begins on the 5th day of the bright half of the month of Chittirai. The key events fall on the 8th, 9thand the 10th days of the festival. The eighth day of theChittirai festival witnesses the coronation of Meenakshiand procession on silverthrones, while the 9th day is thedigvijaya festival. The 10th day (ChitraPurnima) marks the wedding of Meenakshi and Sundareswarar.
Legend has it that Vishnu gave his sister away in marriage to Shiva. In commemoration of this legend, an image ofVishnu is brought in procession from Tirupparamkunram toMadurai. Since Subramanya is the presiding deity of theTirupparamkunram temple, an image of Subramanya leads the procession. Following the wedding, images of Meenakshiand Sundareswarar are taken out in a grand procession on a palanquin and a silverelephant respectively. (It is to be noted that the Tirukkalyaanam festival is celebrated onChitra Pournami in all Shiva temples celebrating the annualBhramhotsavam in the month of Chittirai).
During this time, Kallazhagar from Azhagar Koyil(Tirumaaliruncholai) makes a visit to Vandiyur, near theVaigai river, on the eastern outskirts of Madurai. It is believed that Kallazhagar realizes that he is too late for his sisters wedding, so refuses to cross the river and returns disappointed to Azhagar koyil.
Historically, the chittirai festival used to be celebrated inMaasi, hence the festival processions use the Maasi streets. The festival apparently was moved to the month of Chittiraiin the period of the Naik kings so that the timing would synchronize with that of Azhagar Koyil.
The Ther (chariot) festival is celebrated on the 11th day of the annual festival.
